Midwest Dance Theatre is the pre-profefssional student
ballet company of Patzius Performing Arts. It provides extra performance opportunities for our
most talented students who exhibit dedication, focus and aspirations to perform at a professional level.
The program is designed to guide dancers in their development of technical dance forms with an emphasis on ballet. Company members gain valuable performing experience and learn “tricks of the trade” such as: tips and experience in auditioning, application of stage makeup, developing the confidence and responsibility necessary to succeed, and of course, love of the art.
Members also have the opportunity to compete at the Youth America Grand Prix Ballet Competition each year. YAGP (Youth America Grand Prix) is the only student ballet competition that awards scholarships to leading dance schools, both in the US and abroad.
